Tanzania Photo Tour Itinerary
Let’s go explore the best destination for wildlife photography on earth!
“It’s really beautiful. It feels like God visits everywhere else but lives in Africa.”
Will Smith
Day 1 – 2 | Arusha
Upon your arrival at the airport in Kilimanjaro, You’ll be welcomed at the airport by our driver and guides, who will be with you for the entire holiday. You will be able to rest after the flight and meet everyone at dinner, where we will go over our plans and itinerary.
We will depart for the Arusha National Park. The group is in for a treat as we start our first photo safari in a 4-wheel drive vehicle as well as a walking photo safari. Several paths lead to the foot of Mount Meru, and one of these reaches the brim of the Ngurdoto Crater. Be prepared for breathtaking views as we will be surrounded with lots of wildlife! A packed lunch will be prepared at noon. Once the photo safari finishes, we will head back to the lodge (Mount Meru Hotel or similar) where dinner will be served.

Day 3 | Lake Manyara
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara National park which lies on a thin strip of land about 50 km long and 8 km wide. This makes it easy to spot giraffes, elephants, countless wildebeests, colonies of baboons, hippos, and the infamous climbing lions!
Thanks to the presence of a wider variety of birds, lake Manyara is also a great spot for birdwatching. Be prepared to photograph countless pink flamingos, herons, and pelicans along the lakeshore.
A packed lunch will be available at noon. Once the photo safari is over, we will drive back to the lodge (Kitela Lodge or Tloma Lodge) where dinner will be served.
Day 4 – 6 | Serengeti
This will be undoubtedly the highlight of our workshop and this experience you will treasure forever! After breakfast, we will depart for the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. This eco-system is the oldest on the planet. It boasts a diversity of flora and fauna that is unavailable anywhere else on the globe.
In more than 1 million years, little has changed in the park. The wild animals, the plants and waterways are still largely intact as they were one million years ago. And yet we are here to capture the raw face of real African wildlife.

Prepare yourself for a shooting spree beyond your imagination. Families of lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, vultures and elephants in the endless expanses of one of the most spectacular places on earth. We will overnight right in the national park to be able to capture the stunning sunsets of Serengeti two nights in a row!
A packed lunch will be always available at noon. After the photo tour we will head back to the lodge (Serengeti Serena Lodge or similar) where dinner will be served. There we will also focus on image post-processing and reviewing all the outstanding images.
Day 7 – 8 | Ngorongoro
Early in the morning we will head to another breathtaking location – Ngorongoro Crater which is the world’s largest inactive, unbroken and unfilled volcanic caldera. The conservation area is home for almost 30,000 animals ranging from leopard, cheetah, elephant, and hyena to warthog, buffalo, and impala. It’s also one of the best places to see the endangered black rhino.
In Ngorongoro we will also visit an authentic Masai village and get a chance to meet with Masai tribesmen who will welcome us with traditional jumping dance. We will also be allowed to explore their huts and take countless portraits.

It’s been great to reminisce about our time and trip to Tanzania with others. The real enjoyment was when it was ’today’. The best kind of memories in life is when they come in three’s… like friends, dreams, and memories.
I came home with a blister on one finger from taking close to 5000 photos. I never want to stop making memories with Martin and Inscape . This was not an ordinary trip, and I can’t help but look at all my photos and smile. A memory, to me, is what Tanzania was and I have found that a great experience like this tour does not completely ‘unhappen’ when you have come back home. I can assure you that this is not a trip for large lens on your camera……we got right next to most wildlife.
Guides, drivers, and assistance with taking photos was always available. A must do trip. I’m on my way to Leknes Norway next month for another Lofoten Photo Tour with Martin. Can hardly wait.
